On today’s show, Wendy and Terry interview their dear friend Calli Kelsay. She lives in Encinitas, California with her 4 kiddos (ages 12, 9, 6, & 4) and describes her husband, Matt, as Super Man!
Calli founded Skate Rising youth program that focuses on teaching young girls compassion through service opportunities and empowerment through skateboarding.
She also recently launched a blog and youtube channel focused on families being together, adding adventure in everyday while serving the community in one way or another.
Wendy, Terry & Calli discuss the powerful lessons that can come through the act of skateboarding. Prioritizing connection, empowerment & adventure lead to a life of learning & growing together. These priorities allow confidence, compassion & growth mindset to develop for both parents & their kids!
This same sentiment applies in the lives of parents who are committed to raising their children with firm kindness. We cannot become courageous & confident unless we’re first scared. However, instead of focusing on the scary “what-if’s”, our why can anchor us & spur us onto action.
