Ran across a beautiful quote from Maya Angelou tonight that made me smile.

“The desire to reach for the stars is ambitious. The desire to reach hearts
is wise.” ~ Maya Angelou

It reminded me how a lot of the work we do in a Redirecting Children’s
Behavior Class is based around the heart. Many lessons and examples we
role-play in class show you the difference between approaching your child
expecting results or change, vs. approaching your child with the intention
of helping them solve a problem. Positive Parenting encourages parents to
approach any situation with curiosity and encouragement FIRST, then
eventually move to problem-solving. It’s the idea of connecting before
correcting…and eventually coaching instead of ever correcting.

Most of us WANT to deeply connect with our kids, but just need support on
how to do that…especially during super challenging situations. I
guarantee you that a positive parenting class provides that support and
gives you tons of ideas on how to get there!
